WHAT IS A DERMAL THERAPIST
Dermal Therapist with an Associate Degree is a professional who has done a tertiary health science degree to acquire deeper understanding of the science of the skin, health, and wellness.
Their primary focus is on addressing various skin concerns and conditions to enhance the overall health and appearance of the skin. This degree will allow therapists to perform advanced skincare treatments and dermal therapies. Dermal Therapists can operate on their own or typically work in collaboration with medical professionals such as dermatologists or plastic surgeons to provide comprehensive skincare solutions.
The responsibilities of a Dermal Therapist include:
1. Skin Analysis: They assess their clients' skin conditions and concerns to develop personalized treatment plans.
2. Advanced Skincare Treatments: They perform a wide range of advanced skincare treatments such as HIFU, chemical peels, professional microneedling, laser therapies, and other non-invasive procedures to address specific skin issues like acne, pigmentation, fine lines, skin laxity and more.
3. Product Recommendations & Education: Dermal Therapists often recommend skincare products that are tailored to their clients' skin types and concerns, and they educate clients on proper skincare practices and ingredients.
4. Continuing Education: The field of skincare is constantly evolving, so Dermal Therapists often engage in ongoing education to stay updated on the latest advancements and techniques in skincare treatments.
